Webmaster Steve Pancol - probably 4 years old My introduction to nature. I've been hooked ever since. In 1959, my family went to visit my grandparents in Manhatten, Kansas. My grandpa, Arthur Roehl, loved to feed the birds and squirrels.
After ten trips to Point Peele and four trips to the southwest, I decided to concentrate on Indiana. While key areas of the state receive excellent coverage by Indiana birders, some areas of the state receive little attention. I am especially concerned about the southern 1/3 of the state. The flood plains which exist along the Ohio river from March through June, or possibly as late as July, provides a unique birding opportunity. Hopefully, the tours made available on this website will stimulate an interest in those areas that need more attention. So take the challenge. Step outside your back yard or local park. Go exploring. You might be surprised at what you find. Life List: 479 Indiana List: 325 Summit Lake State Park List: 256 Memberships: American Birding Association, Indiana Audubon Society.
